This book is i my top favorites. The book is about a girl named Julia who has a sister who she thinks is a representation of a perfect mexican daughter. Julia however is not. She is a junior in highschool and she's just so ready to move out, go to new york, and became a writer. For her this is a struggle because her mom is very strict and she comes from a poor family. The main plot is that her older sister died because she got hit by a bus. Well, Julia being a nosy teenage girl, decides her sister is was not the perfect mexican daughter. Julia finds out a lot of things about her older sister and she even has a love interest. The reason I was so captured this book was because it has a lot of struggles about being a colored teenage girl today.
