Beyond Magenta by Susan Kuklin
Beyond Magenta is a wonderful book. It tells you the stories of a couple of people so you'll know what being transgender is like for them and what they had to go through. I liked how it gave you images of the people so you can see their transformation. I also liked how the entire book is an interview but it's as if the person who was being interviewed wrote their own stories when in reality the author was the one writing. One thing that did stand out was that one of them did not want any pictures but you could still picture them and what their life was like. The author was very respectful to the LGBTQ community and she never shamed anyone, which is also what I liked. If you want to better understand transgenders, then this is a book you should read.
