Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

This book challenged my expectations from page one. From the first few chapters, I considered the book to be very juvenile - think of a piece of fiction that a teenager would write. However, the character development and the depth that the plot reaches surprised me, and it was a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend reading this book before its movie releases this year - which is entitled "Love, Simon."
