Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison

Invisible Man is a novel written by Ralph Ellison in 1952 (original publish date). This book takes place in 1952 and is about an African American man who, in his time and era, is basically invisible to his surroundings and others who are a different ethnicity than he is. This book pretty much just discusses the topic of racial discrimination and being treated equally by others. I personally believe that it was a very good book focusing on a serious topic which still kind of effects people today, but due to some laws that have been passed it is not nearly as bad as it once was. It is also very well written and extremely descriptive and packed full of details to where while you're reading you can imagine it as a movie playing in your head, the way it is written is almost like a documentary. IfIi had to give this book a rating I would probably give it a 7 out of 10, mostly because i thought it was The Invisible Man written by H. G. Wells, but instead of reading the cover I rushed and grabbed it, I realized my mistake quickly though. It was still quite a good book and i would probably recommend it to others to read too.
